Conocer las opiniones de las personas para aproximarse a las percepciones construidas respecto a los obstáculos tangibles e intangibles que las excluyen socialmente, permite comprender el fenómeno ambivalente de la exclusión e inclusión social; sobre todo cuando se trata del derecho al acceso del disfrute de espacios recreativos y de aprendizaje. Esta investigación analiza la percepción que existe sobre la accesibilidad entorno al turismo y cómo ésta excluye o incluye socialmente a las personas con discapacidad. Se consideró como caso de estudio el Centro Ecoturístico El Arcotete, Chiapas. Se aplicó una metodología mixta: una encuesta a 90 visitantes, se realizaron recorridos para caracterizar la infraestructura de la zona de estudio y tres entrevistas a profundidad a prestadores de servicios en el Centro Ecoturistico. Se identificaron dos grupos de visitantes, personas con discapacidad (21%) y personas sin discapacidad (79%). El 80% de personas con discapacidad presentaron discapacidad motriz, el resto tenían discapacidad sensorial, cognitiva o múltiple. Las barreras a la accesibilidad fueron físicas (ausencia de rampas, pasamanos, señaléticas con información veraz), ambientales (tramos con pendientes pronunciadas), y sociales (diseño de infraestructura y servicios sin considerar a personas con discapacidad). La percepción sobre la accesibilidad se relacionó con las posibilidades de movilidad y el disfrute del paisaje.

Knowing people's opinion is important to approach perceptions about the tangible and intangible obstacles of social exclusion. This will allow us to understand the phenomenon of both exclusion and inclusion, especially when it comes to the right to access enjoyment in recreational spaces. This research focuses on analyzing the perception that exists about accessibility to tourism and how it excludes or includes people with disabilities. El Arcotete Ecotourism Center, Chiapas, was considered as a case study. We applied a survey to 90 visitors; we also characterized the infrastructure of the study area and applied this to three interviews which were done with service providers at the Ecotourism Center. We identified two groups of visitors, people with disabilities (21%) and people without disabilities (79%). Most of the people with a disability (80%) had a motor disability, the rest showed sensory, cognitive or multiple disabilities. The barriers to accessibility were physical (absence of ramps, handrails, signage with information), environmental (sections with steep slopes), and social (infrastructure design and services without considering persons with disabilities). The perception of accessibility was related to the possibilities of mobility and enjoyment of the landscape.
